Enders Game is proud to announce that we will be performing next Saturday, Jan 28, with the national acts Silent Civilian and Mureau. This will be a great show and one not to miss! Silent Civilian hails from Los Angeles, California and features Jonny Santos from Spineshank. Their 2006 release “Rebirth of Temple” helped cement them as an upcoming band to look our for. This tour supports both this album and their latest release, Ghost Stories (2010). Click here to order your tickets online now and during checkout indicate that you are supporting ENDERS GAME!

Our good friend Hoyt, concert promoter and supporter of all things metal, is now hosting a metal radio show Fridays from 8-11pm EST on Metal Messiah radio!

The station has a lot of incredible programming for whatever your favorite flavor of metal is, so be sure to tune-in often and check-out all the music they have to offer!

Just announced: Enders Game will be performing with national headlining acts Silent Civilian and Mureau at The Acheron venue in Loganville, GA this coming January 28. The show is presented by Bo Stylz Entertainment. Our last show with Silent Civilian was 5 years ago on Feb 16, 2007.

Today we mourn the passing of metal brother and guitarist Cory Smoot. Cory played Flattus Maximus in the band GWAR from 2002 until his death Nov 3. He was not the first to don the Flattus costume, characterized by it’s red face, dreadlocks and enormous dinosaur skull shoulder pads, but he will be the last, as GWAR plans to retire the personality in his honor. Fellow band members found his body the morning after a show in North Dakota as they planned to enter Manitoba for the Canadian leg of their tour; the cause of death is still uncertain. Dave Brockie (aka Oderus Urungus), lead singer for GWAR, states on GWAR’s website that they will continue their tour because it’s what Cory would have wanted.

Having seen GWAR live on countless occasions, I have to give Cory and the rest of the band a lot of credit for their skills as both entertainers and as top-rate musicians. Because of their “shock Rock” nature, I don’t think GWAR often gets the respect they deserve as musicians. Not only do they create a hilariously memorable stage show, but as musicians they have some real versatility, combining everything from Rock n’ Roll, metal, country, jazz and pop in their songs. It also amazes me that when playing live anything that CAN go wrong WILL go wrong, yet these guys not only do it night-after-night but add gallons of liquid, stage acrobatics, fire-breathing and huge costumes into the mix!

Cory, thank you for giving us some truly memorable performances as Flattus Maximus – those were literally some huge shoes to fill.
To the rest of the GWAR family, our thought are with you – thank you for continuing to do what you do best – we need your irreverent sense of humor more than ever in these troubled times. You guys taught me that the world would be OK if we first just learned to laugh at ourselves (and then at everything else).

– Dave, 11/4/11
